INDONESIA HARUS MEMPROTES KERAS 
INVASI MILITER ISRAEL TERHADAP SISTEM KESEHATAN DI GAZA UTARA

Assalamu’alaikum Wr Wb,

Hampir 90 hari sistem layanan kesehatan di Gaza Utara mengalami tekanan, mulai dari pembatasan tim medis internasional, pengurangan suplai logistik medis dan bahan bakar hingga yang terakhir masif terjadi dalam sepekan terakhir adalah pemaksaan pemindahan pasien dan staff medis yang dibarengi penyerangan langsung terhadap RS Kamal Udwan dan RS Al Awda.

Dalam kurun waktu tersebut, tidak terdengar nada protes dari para pemimpin internasional, apalagi pemimpin negara-negara Muslim. Berkali-kali teriakan memohon intervensi internasional disampaikan oleh Kementerian Kesehatan di Gaza dan oleh direktur RS Kamal Udwan sendiri, dr. Husam Abu Safiya, namun hanya seperti bisikan angin malam di musim dingin semata.

Bagi Indonesia, tekanan militer terhadap sistem kesehatan di Gaza Utara juga berarti ancaman terhadap RS Indonesia. Dalam sejarahnya, RS Indonesia adalah sumbangsih terbesar masyarakat Indonesia terhadap perjuangan kemerdekaan bangsa Palestina, yang pada akhirnya menjelma menjadi tulang punggung sistem kesehatan di Gaza Utara.

Sebagai lembaga yang konsisten mengirimkan tim medis ke Jalur Gaza, kami menyaksikan bagaimana pasien dan staff medis harus bertahan di bawah ancaman perang dan di saat yang sama melawan penyakit yang diderita. Dalam 3 bulan terakhir kondisi semakin sulit, tidak hanya berdampak terhadap pelayanan namun juga kesehatan mental seluruh pekerja kesehatan yang berada di RS. Karenanya, kami berharap kepada Bapak-bapak yang terhormat, dengan posisi dan wewenang yang dimiliki saat ini, untuk memprotes keras invasi militer Israel terhadap sistem kesehatan di Gaza Utara yang merusak infrastruktur RS dan membunuh para pekerja kesehatan didalamnya saat bertugas. 

Kami berharap, suara Bapak-bapak yang mewakili 200-an juta masyarakat di Indonesia yang mendukung kemerdekaan Palestina, akan memberikan dorongan dan inspirasi bagi pemimpin dunia lainnya agar mau bersuara dan memberikan tekanan kepada pemerintah Israel agar menghentikan penyerangan terhadap fasilitas kesehatan yang merupakan pelanggaran terhadap International Humanitarian Law.

Keterlambatan dalam menyuarakan masalah ini, tidak hanya berpotensi pada penghancuran sistem kesehatan, namun dalam skala yang lebih besar merupakan bagian dari genosida terencana dan sistematis.

Mari selamatkan saudara kita di Gaza, Palestina dari upaya penghilangangan paksa eksistensi mereka dari muka bumi.

Open Letter

 

INDONESIA MUST STRONGLY PROTEST THE ISRAELI MILITARY INVASION OF THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM IN THE NORTH OF GAZA

Assalamu'alaikum (Peace be upon you),

 

For almost 90 days, the healthcare service system in Northern Gaza has been under heavy tension, starting from restrictions upon the presence of international medical teams, reductions in medical logistics and fuel supplies, to the most recent massive incident in last week, where patients and medical staffs forced to transfer while at the same time getting direct attacks in the Kamal Adwan Hospital and Al Awda Hospital.

 

During this period, no protest was heard from the international leaders, let alone leaders in the Muslim countries. Many times, the cries for help for the international intervension were declared by the Ministry of Health in Gaza and by the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital himself, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, only to get treated like whispers in the winter night wind by the international communities.

 

For Indonesia, the military tension from IOF on the healthcare system in Northern Gaza also means a threat to the Indonesia Hospital. Historically, the Indonesia Hospital was the largest contribution from the Indonesian people themselves to support the struggle for Palestinian independence, which eventually became the backbone of the healthcare system in the North of Gaza.

 

MER-C as an institution that consistently delegates medical teams into the Gaza Strip, have witnessed how patients and medical staffs have tried to survive under the threat of war while at the same time have to fight the diseases they have suffered. In the last 3 months, the conditions have become increasingly difficult, not only affecting the overall healthcare services but also the mental health state of all the healthcare workers in the hospital. Therefore, we put our hope to the honoured leaders, with all the honorable positions and authorities they currently have, to strongly protest the Israeli military invasion of the healthcare system in the North of Gaza, which created damage at the hospital infrastructure and killed the on duty healthcare workers inside the hospitals.

 

We are hoping, that the voices of the honoured Leaders in Indonesia who represent the 200 million people in Indonesia and their support for the Palestinian independence cause will provide encouragement and inspiration for the other world leaders to speak up and put pressure on the Israeli government to stop their attacks on the healthcare system facilities which are a violation of International Humanitarian Law.

 

The delay in voicing this issue not only holds the potential to destroy the healthcare system itself, but on a larger scale is part of complicity in a planned and systematic genocide.

 

Let's rescue our brothers and sisters in Gaza, Palestine, from any attempt to forcibly remove their existence from the face of the earth.
