Gaza – Di tengah serangkaian serangan dan pengepungan penjajah Israel, relawan lokal MER-C dan staf medis di Rumah Sakit Indonesia, Gaza, tak putus asa. 

Sekitar 20 staf rumah sakit yang tersisa bersama relawan lokal MER-C tetap bertahan dan langsung membersihkan bagian dalam RS Indonesia yang kondisinya memprihatinkan akibat dampak serangan penjajah Israel. Kaca-kaca jendela dan plafon yang runtuh berserakan di lantai. Beberapa alat medis juga dilaporkan tertimpa reruntuhan.

Bersih-bersih ini dilakukan sebelum serangan bom terbaru penjajah Israel menggunakan quadcopter pada Selasa (20/5) dini hari, yang kembali menimbulkan kerusakan. Sedikitnya tiga generator dan satu tiang pemancar menjadi target sasaran.

Meski berada dalam kondisi sulit dan dengan keterbatasan makanan, para relawan tetap melanjutkan tugas kemanusiaan mereka. 

Sebelumnya, mmenurut nformasi dari relawan lokal MER-C pada Ahad, 18 Mei 2025, rumah sakit dikepung oleh tentara Israel yang mengerahkan quadcopter untuk memantau situasi. Pasukan penjajah berada di sekitar 500 meter dari sisi utara dan selatan rumah sakit serta melarang segala bentuk aktivitas di sekitarnya.

Dalam aksi penyerangan yang terus berlanjut, tentara Israel juga dilaporkan telah merobohkan tembok pagar Rumah Sakit Indonesia yang berlogo MER-C menggunakan buldozer. Aksi ini semakin memperlihatkan eskalasi kekerasan dan penghancuran fasilitas kemanusiaan di Gaza.

Meski segala tantangan dan kesulitan ini, relawan MER-C dan staf RS Indonesia tetap menunjukkan semangat dan komitmen untuk melanjutkan tugas kemanusiaan mereka.

Unrelenting Courage Amidst Siege and Attacks: MER-C Volunteers and Indonesia Hospital Staff Clean Up

Gaza - In the midst of a series of attacks and sieges by Israeli occupation forces, local MER-C volunteers and medical staff at the Indonesia Hospital in Gaza remain undeterred. Approximately 20 remaining hospital staff, along with local MER-C volunteers, have chosen to stay and are actively cleaning up the interior of the Indonesia Hospital, which is in a dire condition due to the impact of the Israeli occupation attacks. Shattered windows and collapsed ceilings litter the floors, and some medical equipment has reportedly been damaged by the rubble.

This cleanup effort took place before the latest drone bombing attack by Israeli occupation forces using a quadcopter on Tuesday (20/5) early morning, which caused further damage. At least three generators and one transmission tower were targeted. Despite the challenging circumstances and limited food supplies, the volunteers remain committed to their humanitarian work.

According to information from local MER-C volunteers on Sunday, May 18, 2025, the hospital was surrounded by Israeli troops who deployed quadcopters to monitor the situation. The occupation forces were positioned approximately 500 meters from the north and south sides of the hospital and prohibited any activity in the surrounding area.

In the ongoing attacks, Israeli troops have also reportedly demolished the perimeter wall of the Indonesia Hospital bearing the MER-C logo using bulldozers. This act further highlights the escalating violence and destruction of humanitarian facilities in Gaza.

Despite these challenges and difficulties, MER-C volunteers and Indonesia Hospital staff continue to demonstrate their dedication and commitment to carrying out their humanitarian duties.
