Gaza – BEBERAPA hari lalu, setelah mendengar kabar bahwa pasukan penjajah Israel telah mundur dari kawasan sekitar Rumah Sakit Indonesia di Beit Lahiya, Gaza Utara, Saya memberanikan diri mendekat lagi ke area rumah sakit.
Bahayanya masih ada, karena serangan penjajah Israel masih berlangsung. MER-C Indonesia juga meminta Saya untuk tak mendekat ke Beit Lahiya demi keamanan. Tapi hati Saya tak bisa tenang sebelum melihat langsung kondisi RS Indonesia.
Saat tiba, Saya menyaksikan gedung-gedung di sekeliling RS Indonesia telah berubah menjadi puing-puing. Namun, di tengah kehancuran itu, bangunan RS Indonesia masih berdiri kokoh. Ia seakan menjadi simbol bahwa harapan belum sepenuhnya musnah.
Di dekatnya, Wisma Joserizal Jurnalis, juga mengalami kerusakan cukup parah. Gudang berisi barang-barang properti milik MER-C berhamburan. Ruang rapat, ruang tidur tamu dan dapur yang hancur nampak terbuka dan kosong.
Saat menyusuri setiap ruangannya, Saya teringat rekan-rekan MER-C yang biasa berkumpul dan merencanakan bantuan untuk Kami, masyarakat Gaza, di gedung ini.
Saya mengangkat kamera, merekam dan memotret semuanya. Saya tahu, dunia harus melihat ini. Bahwa di tengah kehancuran, RS Indonesia tetap tegak berdiri. Meski pelayanannya kini terhenti karena blokade dan evakuasi paksa oleh penjajah, harapan dari tempat ini belum padam.
Teruslah kirimkan doa. Teruslah bersuara. Karena dari tempat yang telah hancur lebur ini, Kami tetap bertahan untuk hidup, untuk harapan, dan untuk kemanusiaan.

MER-C’s Local Volunteer: I’m Witnessing the Hospital Still Standing Amidst by Rubble
Gaza – Few days ago, after the news of the Israeli Occupation Forces had withdrawn from the area around the Indonesia Hospital in Beit Lahiya, Northern Gaza, I ventured closer to the hospital area.
The danger remained, as the attacks continued. MER-C Indonesia asked me not to approach the area of Beit Lahiya for safety reasons. But my heart could not rest until I saw the condition of the Indonesia Hospital firsthand.
Upon the arrival, I saw the surrounding buildings at the Indonesia Hospital had been reduced to rubble. However, amidst the destruction, the Indonesia Hospital building still stood strong. It seemed to symbolize that hope had not been completely lost.
Nearby, the Joserizal Journalist Guesthouse also suffered significant damage. A warehouse containing MER-C property was scattered. The meeting room, guest bedroom, and kitchen were destroyed, appearing open and empty.
As I walked through each rooms, I remembered all of my MER-C colleagues who used to gather and plan aid for us, the people of Gaza, in this building.
I raised my camera, filming and photographing everything. I knew the world needed to see this. Amidst the destruction, the Indonesia Hospital remains standing. Although its services have now been halted due to the blockade and forced evacuation by the occupation, the hope of this place has not been extinguished.
Keep sending prayers. Keep speaking out. And through this devastating state of place, we continue to stand for life, for hope, and for humanity.
